Advisory

Six ways the research reaches a decision.

These are the services we are commissioned for. Each one runs on the same programs, sources and methods as the publications on this site — the difference is only that the question arrives from a client rather than from our own research agenda.

We keep the two apart deliberately. Advisory work is confidential and paid for; the research is public and open to check. No client reads a publication before it is published, and no published finding is softened because a client would prefer a different one. Where those two obligations conflict, the publication wins.

    Sovereign Advisory

Counsel for governments working against the clock.

We advise ministries, regulators and state agencies across Central Asia, the Caucasus and Europe on decisions that cannot wait for the next research cycle — a change in a transit regime, a sanctions exposure, a negotiating position that has to hold. The work is confidential. The evidence behind it is the same evidence we publish.

    Country Risk Reporting

The political picture before it moves.

Standing coverage of one country or one corridor: election arithmetic, regulatory drift, elite alignment, and the conflict risks sitting underneath all three. Delivered as continuous monitoring or as a single deep assessment. We name the indicators we are watching, so a client can watch them too.

    Strategic Communications

What you say under scrutiny is read as what you knew.

Positions that survive being checked, in the region's own languages rather than in translation. We help organisations answer regulators, regional media and international partners from one account of the facts — assembled before the pressure arrives instead of during it.

    Corporate Diplomacy Training

Learn to work with the state, not around it.

Working sessions for executives and public affairs teams who negotiate with governments in the region. Participants take real files — a contested licence, a multilateral round, an inquiry that turns hostile — and are held to the standard of evidence our own analysts work to. Run in Russian or English.

    Government Affairs

Anticipate the rule while it is still a draft.

We follow policy where it is actually made: committee papers, ministry consultations, and the regional bodies whose decisions become national law months later. Clients learn what is coming, who decides it, and the point past which a case can no longer be made.

    Crisis Simulations

Stress-test the plan before you need it.

A scripted exercise built on a scenario the organisation would plausibly face — a border closure, a cyber incident, a government that changes overnight. Decision-makers play their own roles under time pressure, and the debrief names the gaps the exercise found rather than the ones we expected to find.
